First Latina from Lawrence Elected to the Democratic State Committee for the first Essex and Middlesex districts.
Born in the Dominican Republic, Ana Victoria Morales immigrated with her family to Lawrence MA.
She is a Lawrence High school graduate and upon receiving a full tuition scholarship through the Posse Foundation, she attended Denison University earning a bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Spanish, and Dance.
Ana joined Senator Elizabeth Warren’s Senate campaign as Deputy Political Director, helping her win reelection in 2018.
Beginning in college, Ana worked on a number of political campaigns including the 2008 and 2012 presidential campaigns for Barack Obama, Elizabeth Warren’s 2012 campaign for U.S. Senate and Ed Markey’s 2014 campaign for U.S. Senate.
As one of the few Latinas on these campaigns and representing a Millennial voice, she helped advocate for immigrants, voting rights and increased representation.
After graduation, she served as Senator Elizabeth Warren’s Press Assistant for the State and then joined the labor movement as Deputy Communications Director for Service Employees International Union Local 509.
In her role with the Warren re-election campaign, she traveled across Massachusetts, supporting community events and hosting town meetings. She also holds roundtable discussions with local leaders and activists to understand the issues facing communities.
Ana is an active member of the Merrimack Valley and currently serves as a state committee member for the 1st Essex and Middlesex districts, recently held a seat on Lawrence's Mayor Dan Rivera’s re-election committee and is passionate about voter engagement and inclusion.
She believes that the backbone of democratic politics is civic engagement, education, and access. Her dream is to one day be Mayor of Lawrence.
